Backend Engineer

Every request from every platform passes through one Cloudflare Worker. It verifies who is asking, resolves their tier, checks quotas, picks a model, forwards to a provider, and streams the answer back — and it is the single place where the account identity is separated from the request.

That makes it the most consequential code we have. It is also where the redaction service will live, and where the public API we intend to open up will be built.

What you would do

  • Work in TypeScript across the Cloudflare Worker, Next.js, and Firebase
  • Design and build the redaction service, and the API we intend to open to other companies
  • Own auth, tiers, quotas, and rate limiting — the parts that are load-bearing when abused
  • Think in failure modes: this path fails closed, and deciding that explicitly is the job

What we are looking for

  • Strong TypeScript, and experience with edge runtimes or their constraints
  • Streaming: SSE, backpressure, and what happens when a response is cut off mid-flight
  • Security instincts — you should find the hole in a scheme before it ships
  • Comfort owning production for a system with no one else on call

How to apply

Email us with something you have built. A repo, an app, a write-up of a problem you solved — anything that shows how you think is worth more here than a CV.
