How this is measured
Every 5 minutes a check runs from our Cloudflare edge — outside the hosting that serves this website. It writes a record to the database and reads it back, and it calls the service that carries your questions to a model. Both have to answer, and answer quickly, to count as working.
A grey bar means we do not know. Days with fewer than 12 checks are shown as no data rather than counted as perfect, and they are left out of the uptime figure entirely. If our checks stop arriving — which is what a serious outage looks like from here — this page says they have stopped rather than continuing to show green.
We keep counts per day, not a minute-by-minute timeline, so this page can tell you a day was not fully up but not which hour. Nothing here has been verified by anyone outside the company; it is our own measurement of our own systems, and our security page takes the same position about the same limitation.
